Ive tried putting aloe vera all over my head, Ive tried all the shampoos, Ive tried EVERYTHING...anyone have any ideas??

How about regular warm oil treatments? You know how they sell V05 Hot Oil treatments in the drug store? Well maybe if you just warm it rather than making it hot it will help. I use sesame oil on my stomach, so it gave me the idea that the oils may be good for your scalp.

I think the lotion my make it worse. You might ask your doc for a prescription dandruff shampoo if head and shouldors doesn't work.

using Olive Oil is the best thing for dandruff. I have also heard that rose mary oil works well too. Putting it on at night just on your scalp while you sleep. I have never heard of dandruff being a side affect of pregnancy but I do know that during this "magical" time we tend to go through major changes!! I have this gross rash on my thighs :( what it probably is is some sort of reaction you're having . During pregnacy our bodies are just more sensative I guess. I really don't think that we get enough credit for all this c___p!! ;)

Ticia- I am having a dandruff problem too! I thought I was the only one! Jade...do you know if you put the oil on at night then wash it out in the morning? Haha...that's actually pretty much the only thing that makes sense huh? Maybe I'll try it!

yes you wash it out in the morning :) I wouldn't use any harsh shampoos though.

I got bad dandruff for the first time ever since getting pregnant. It started about 10 wks. I tried a bunch of head & shoulders and other brands and finally saw a commercial for Neutrogena T/Gel Original Formula and it said it works from the first time you use it. I personally noticed a ton of diffrence by the second day. I asked the pharmacist at the store if it was OK for me being pregnant and he said it's fine. You only use it twice a week and I just leave it on for a minute or two. It smells awefull though (really mediciney) so I just wash with a good smelling shampoo right after and it still works. I just use my regular shampoo the rest of the week. It's been so great! My hair is almost black so I was crying because you could see tons flakes really easy and now they're gone.

A lot of doctors recommend shampoos with Zinc. My husband uses an unscented one by KMS (I think they now call it Head Remedy).

I thought I had dandruff but went to a dermatologist and found out it was scalp eczema. I got a prescription foam called Olux that looks like mousse. It worked like a charm. I think it's pretty potent stuff though, so you might not be able to use it while pregnant. If this continues after the birth, ask your doc about Olux.

Put about a half a cup of olive oil in the microwave---be careful not too hot---check the temp--it shold be as warm as you can put on your head comfortably...it does wonders for dandruff and makes your hair incredibly shiny

How often do I have to do this?
