Embarrased About Your Size

Last night I almost had a nervous breakdown because of my size. I've gained almost 45 lbs (I'm 34 1/2) weeks and I now weigh 227lbs. I'm completely miserable and unhappy. I feel like I'm just huge and I'm embarrased for letting myself get like this. I'm gaining weight so fast and I actually have gained 3 or 4 lbs in the last week. I feel like my weight has only made worse the pain I feel in my inner upper thighs which makes it very difficult to get in bed or to even put my pants on. My double chin is out of control!!! Urgh! Sorry, needed to vent! Anyone else feel this way?

Sorry you feeling this way. I am 28 weeks and have gained 31 pounds which I was informed a week ago was out of control. That's always nice to hear. Two days later I was told I have gestational diabetes so now I am on a diet and have lost 3 pounds. If it were not for my diagnosis, I would be right on track to gain the same amount of weight. Your not alone, a lot of us let it get out of control. At this point all you can do is cut back a little to try and not gain too much but in reality even that may not work. Just go with it, you can lose the weight after the baby. Enjoy the last few weeks you have. Good luck to you!

I know how you feel, I am 34 1\2 weeks also & have gained almost 40lbs! I know this is the time we're supposed to gain the most weight & I feel like i've already gained it! I try to eat really healthy, yet still gain. I don't even eat extra calories like they say you should. Anyway, I am b___stfeeding, and they say you're supposed to eat an extra 500 calories/day...yeah right!!! I'm going to eat normal & let my body take all the existing fat for milk so I can lose it easier. I know if you b___stfeed you can lose weight faster & easier...I wouldn't worry too much, just watch what you eat from here out! Good luck!

Im 33 1/2 weeks and have gained 47 lbs. I wouldnt worry, different women experience very different pregnancies that are all mostly normal and healthy.

Hang in there, I gained 55 pounds with my pregnancy and also reached the 200+ mark. I have now started weight watchers for nursing moms and have lost 5 pounds in just 2 weeks. 35 pounds of my weight came off 2 weeks after delivery (that was baby + water and swelling) So I figure I'll have it off by Christmas which is only 7 months after delivery. That sounds like a long time to take it off but figure it took 9 to put on. Just focus on being healthy right now.

I have been feeling down about my weight gain too, (almost 40 lbs at 34 weeks), but try to hang in there, its almost over!!! I went and got a nice hair cut, which made me feel better about my new rounder face and stuff. I also find swimming (except for the embarra__sing swimsuit) and laying in a really full tub help, because my fat floats and I feel less weighed down.

at 17 i gained 96 pounds with my daughter. I was a total blob....but guess what gals...a year later it had all fallen off and I was back at the pool in a bikinni top and shorts. I wouldnt say I got my body back. I wasnt skinny and being pregnant took its toll and left its mark...but it wasnt that horrible. I got a figure back that was decent and you will too. Youre gorgeous Mommas...especially now, no matter your weight.

Seattle... I gained 68 pounds during my first pregnancy... I weighed 208 the day my daughter was born... and talk about depressing.. listen to this... the day I left the hospital (5 days after c-section) I was so swollen that I could not even fit into the pants that I wore the day I went into the hospital!!!! You think.... OK I'll have the baby and right away feel lighter... no such luck for me... but Don't you worry... you'll loose the weight... It took me a year but i lost 60 of my 68 pounds.... this pregnancy is going much better.. .33 weeks and only 28 lbs gained so far...
