Falling At 38 Weeks

I am 38 weeks pregnant and yesturday I took a spill on the sidewalk. My arms took most of the pressure, but I did hit the right side of my belly. I went to the doctor and did a stress test. The baby seemed to be O.K, but I am really sore. I haven't had any bleeding or anything, but I was wondering if I still could have done some damage. I am really worried. This is my first.

That is a real shame. I'm sorry that happened to you...it is obviously very scary. However, the non-stress test tells it all and if the baby seemed OK then it is safe to say that the baby is OK but you may be a different story. Just sit in a warm bath and have your hubby put warm/cold compresses on your arms. As for doing any damage to the baby, don't forget it is very protected in the uterus and the amniotic fluid acts as a cushion...it is meant to withstand any type of pressure, including falls. Don't worry, although easier said than done. As long as their is no bleeding or anything, you are fine. However, at 38 weeks, you're good to go at any moment so good luck to the both of you!
