Feeling Winded

I'm almost 39 weeks along. Through out my whole pregnancy from time to time I would feel like I'm just out of breath and like I'm winded. Even when I'm sitting down. Does other people get this? LIke it's almost hard to catch my breath even though I'm just sitting here. Feels like I just did a work out.

YES!! I am only 28 weeks and I have been feeling like that for a few weeks now. Sometimes it gets to the point were I feel like I am going to hyperventilate or something. Anyone know what causes this?

i know exactly what you mean. i've felt like that a ton during my pregnancy (i'm 38 weeks). i've read that it's just because there's less space for the lungs with the baby. it's supposed to go away once the baby's "dropped" . i haven't noticed any "dropping" for me yet, though.

Yep, I am experiencing the exact same thing. I feel like I have just ran a marathon after reaching to tie my shoes, and I am carrying my little man low. Remember though all the extra weight, fluid, and the not to mention extra person you are carrying. After the baby drops, this gives your diaphragm more room for expansion. I went out and bought a pair of lace-free tennis shoes. Much better :)

I have been feeling this way in the last few days, too. I did a little bit in the earlier part of my pregnancy and now it is starting again (I was 33 weeks on Saturday.) I think it is the baby encroaching on my diaphragm and ribs. Hopefully he'll drop in a fwe weeks and then it won't be as bad.

Oh yeah! Today all I was doing was walking around the house picking stuff up and talking on the phone and a couple times I thought I was gonna have to hang up cus I just couldn't catch my breath! This extra weight totally sucks.
