First Timer W Some Questions

I'm just about 31 weeks pregnant. Yesterday night I was laughing really hard and I got a sharp pain up in my rib and then a burning pressure sensation in my area. After that, every once and awhile I would get a sharp pain that would run from my back around to my belly. I tried to relax and sleep it off, but this morning I'm still very uncomfortable with the pressure. I considered calling the doctor, but I see her on Friday and it's not too terrible. Any ideas whats going on? I thought maybe the baby moved head down?

Since it happened while you were doing something, laughing, I'd bet it's a pulled muscle or ligament.

or the baby hitting a nerve or something. usually the lightening (baby moving down) won't happen for a first timer until about 4 weeks before birth, but you never know! it could be a braxton hicks as well, but probably nothing to worry about. i would just mention it at your next normal appt.

It might be baby's head (or other bodily part) putting pressure on a nerve. Mention it to your doc but I don't think you have anything to worry about. Just wait...in another 4-5 wks you'll be feeling all sorts of aches, pains and spasms. GL.
