Five Hours Of Contractions False Labor

Last night I started getting contractions 4 minutes apart for FIVE hours. Talked to the doc, he said it was sort of soon to come in, so I waited. Then about 5 am this morning they stopped. Now I have about 4-5 an hour. Is it common to get bh contractions for that long? I go to the doc tomorrow, but wanted to see if anyone else has had false labor like that? I am 35.5 week by the way.

The exact same thing happened to me at 35 weeks. I was having tons of contractions that started about 8 minutes apart then moved to about 3, plus I had menstral-like back pain for about 3 hours. By the time I got to the doctor, everything had stopped...and I am still prego (4 days overdue)! Good luck to you!

I thought for sure I was in labor Thanksgiving nite, had contractions all night, but they faded. Then again early Sunday am--the contractions were almost overlapping each other, so I finished packing up my bag and took a shower, and then they faded yet again. I was due yesterday, and am hoping to have this baby in the next 24 hours (like I have much of a say, but I can hope!!). Those braxton hicks can really fool ya!

Ack! I was hoping that this would be sign I would have this baby early! Looks like the odds are against me. But dang, these contractions REALLY were painful. Will talk to my doc tomorrow and see what he has to say about it. Thanks for the stories, good to know that I am not the only one! Good luck to you all!
