Heart Rate

I just came from my dr.'s visit and when they were listening to my babys heart rate (I was laying down) it went down. so they repositioned me to be sitting up and the babys heart rate went back to normal. what are the effects of the baby's heart rate going down? because there have been times when i've laid down on my back for more than 10 min.

I dont think it matters to the baby really. I got my babys heart monitored last week and i was sitting up in the bed. The heart rate went from anywhere between 130 to 170+, the babys heart rate changes when the baby moves thats all.

When you lie down flat on your back you acually reduce the volume of blood delivered to your baby. I dont remember the term, but I know this because I have done soon reading with my pregnant wife on pregnancy.
