Am asking on behalf of my wife - we eat very wisely, almost no greasy foods, loads of vegetables but my wife is consistently suffering from heartburn and acid reflux - any good advice to help with this? thanks, KL

I feel her pain... Maalox and Tums have become my best friends. Also, as a treat for mom and a treatment for discomfort, try plain vanilla ice cream. I recently learned that even healthy foods can give you heart burn. Tomatoes are one of the worst. Also, a not so healthy food, but chocolate is another really bad one. Hope this helps :)

This has been my biggest gripe during this pregnancy, constant heartburn! My doctor told me to get otc relief with zantac or Tagamet but to take double doses because it is so much worse for pregnant women. It works like a charm. You can also ask for an Rx if the otc stuff doesn't work. Tums and maalox are a waste of money for this kind of burn. Good luck!

I've done the double dose of zantac as well, plus rolaids for immediate relief. Also try eating smaller meals more frequently.
