How Much Weight Is Baby Gaining Last Month

How much weight goes onto baby weeks 36- 40? My baby was guessed to be 7-7.5 lbs at 36 weeks and I was wondering, assuming that was an accurate guess, how much more weight this baby is going to gain if I went to 40 wks. I thought it was 1/2 lb a week then others say it can be more than that. At what size will they induce? This is my first baby and I have a small frame...does that matter?

I have 10 pounders and never been induced over size. I'm fairly tall, but small boned. I've heard a half pound too, but I'm sure it varies.

I don't think they can accurately tell anyway, so I wouldn't fixate on the 7 lbs. My cousin's belly was HUGE and she was told after an ultrasound that she was going to have a 12 pound child (she in fact was an 11 pound child) so they scheduled her for a c-section. In fact, she gave birth 10 days ago, naturally, and the baby was only 7 pounds.

my belly isn't huge, I've only gained 18 lbs and was 125 lbs pre pregnancy. My husbands family have all had big baby's as well as mine. I've heard of dr's inducing when they thought the baby was 8 + lbs but then again I still have a few weeks to go. I'll ask my dr tomorrow, I really don't want to be induced but I don't want to be pregnant anymore either.

I read that they gain 1/2 to 1 whole pound a week the last 4 weeks.

I gained 4 lbs at my last dr visit and I go tomorrow again but the scale seems to say another 2 or 3, I know i have been retaining a lot more fluid because my feet and legs are swollen but a lot has to be baby. I said from day one that I would be early and that I would have a big baby, so maybe I'll have this kid soon.
