How Often Do You Go To The Dr In The End

In all my books it said that in the 35th week they will start scheduling appointments once a week and checking for change in your cervix. Well I had my 35th wk appointment yesterday and they scheduled my next one for two weeks, and he didn't check my cervix. Is that normal... to me it just seems really weird because when he was feeling my belly he was like well he is definitely head down and lets hope you go into labor early coz your baby is getting pretty big. No c__p he's getting big I feel like someone tied a boulder to the front of me!

p.s. They aren't checking me for group B strep until my next appt... 37wks, doesn't that seem odd too?

i am going once a week... they say the last month they start you on once a week.

They usually dont test for group b strep until the 35-37 week...with my other two it was usually 37 weeks..so that is normal...as amber said usually at 36 weeks you start visits every week...good luck

It's standard for them to check at 37weeks. The reason is, Group B strep may not be present in earlier pregnancy and it's wiser to wait until you are full term (37 weeks or more is no longer considered pre-mature). This way, they aren't checking too early, or to late. When your doc said "early", he may have ment a week or so early, not tomorrow.
