Yes, this is another stretchmark thread. Woe is me. I was dumb enough to think I would escape the dreaded purple stretchmarks, but the first couple made their appearance a few days ago. Now, just 3-4 days later, they have already spread and multiplied at an alarming rate. Seven more weeks left? I'm doomed to tons and tons of stretchmarks. Woe is me. (Oh, I'm just whining. It's not really that bad.) :)

I was told and thought this was quite a nice way to put it - 'stretchmarks are your babies way of showing the journey you made together'. I was lucky that I only had stretchmarks with my second baby, my first I had nothing and with my third I had nothing. So far I am free (only 24w4d so early for here!) but there is still time for them to show up!!

That is a nice way to put it! I don't really mind them too much, it's my husband I'm worrying about (not sure if he'll like my stomach as much with purple stretchmarks)... Did your stretchmarks go away after you had your babies?

This is my first and so far I don't have stretch marks. But when I was a kid- I got very sick and lost nearly 20 lbs in a short time and then put on steroids and gained the 20 + some back. Needless to say I got stretchmarks from it on my lower back and inner thighs. They were deep red at the time. They eventually faded to white and shrunk up and are hardly noticeable. But I also have pale skin. Since most stretch marks fade to white depending on your complexion they may be more noticeable in color. But to be honest I have known lots of pregnant women with stretchmarks and most of the time they fade and aren't that bad. What seems to be worse in my opinion is if your skin doesn't contract back after the pregnancy is over and you have lots of loose skin. Good luck. I still look everyday for stretch marks. I really don't want them but it is part of pregnancy. I guess more like battle scars.

Battle scars is a good way to describe it. :) I already had stretchmarks, too. They were just very pale and didn't seem to be spreading. Oh, well. I'll just have to deal with them. I shouldn't complain. Anything for my baby!

All of my stretch marks are on my hips and back, do you think they'll come around to the front? My fiance says they're s_xy....I kind of look at him like "Well you're probably the only one" But I don't mind them so much, at least they symbolize a hard journey over.

Or in my case, almost over.
