Hi everyone...I just got a sonogram done today and I was told that the baby already weighs 6lb 10 oz!! I am35 wks and 1 day today. I was told that the baby could gain 1/2 to 3/4 lbs. per week till delivery. Oh man, he is gonna be a big boy,lol :)

I'm kinda in the same boat. My baby girl won't be quite as big as your son, but close. At my appointment today (39 weeks, by the way) I was told she's between 7 1/2-8 lbs, probably closer to 8. But for me personally, I'd rather have a bigger baby than a teeny one. I'd be just so worried I'd break her if she was so small. Vaginal delivery might be a problem if you're not properly prepared (like I am, ha!), and I am terrified my body won't be able to handle an 8 lb baby v____ally. I've always been a bit uh, small down there.

I'm37 weeks and not sure about the weight yet. However a friend of ours was told at 36 weeks her baby was 7 1/2 lbs approx. She went to 42 weeks and was induced but the baby then weighed 6lbs 4 and the rest was water retention. :-)

I was told 1 oz a day... so you have 4 weeks 6 days. 34 days. 34 oz. 2lbs 2oz. So I would say the baby would be 8 lbs 12 oz. My cousin just had a baby this morning and he weighed 9 lbs 15 oz and was 23 inches long!

ps I was told my baby weighed about 6.5 lbs at my 27 weeks 3 days along and I am being induced at 38 weeks 5 days so we figured 7lbs 2 oz.

Piratesmermaid, that area down there is amazing. You'll be surprised how big it will get and go right back to normal size, like nothing ever happened.

At my 38.5 week ultrasound they say this girl is 10lbs 3 oz, Im having a c-section on July 17th.

I have noticed that when Dr's tell you what they think your baby will weigh, they are wrong, quite often. My Dr. was wrong with my first two, both of them. He was off by atleast a pound.

10lbs 3oz, OMG!!! I guess I am not too worried about his size as long as I dont have to get a C section. That scares the hell out of me! My 1st son weighed 8lbs 8oz and I had him v____ally with no problems. I guess I wont know until I actually see him...I cant wait :)

I'm worried, too. 5 and 1/2 pounds at 33 weeks. 1 oz a day sounds better than what I've been reading! I have heard about a lot of incorrect estimates, too!
