If I Had One Advise To Ladies In 3rd Trimester

If I had to give just one advise to you ladies in "waiting", its to read up on as much parenting books as you can, especially all you first time moms. When I was in my 3rd trimester I was bored out of my mind waiting for the baby and read up on everything about labor and birth, but not one book about parenting. Looking back now, I could've used all that extra time to do my research on contentious issues like sleeping (trust me, its a contentious issue as there are different schools of thought on it), feeding, whether to be an "attached parent"or not, what to do when baby fusses sometimes but not others, how to recognise teething, and on and on. Eversince my daughter was born I'vebeen trying to read these parenting books, and its practically impossible with a 4 month old. I often read things that would've have helped me a month or two ago, and wish I had applied them. You will also receive a lot of unsolicited advise and opinions that contradict each other, but when you are well informed, you know exactly where you stand and your just that much more confident about the everyday decisions you make as a mom. Some books I like and were highly recommended: "Happiest Baby on the Block," "Healthy Sleep Habbits, Happy Baby," And "Attachment Parenting" or the rest of the Dr. Sears series. Good luck and enjoy! they grow up so fast!
