Intuition That My 1st Baby Will Come Early

Hi all! I am 29 weeks pregnant and ever since I found out I was pregnant I just had this unsettling feeling that I would not be going to 40 weeks. I know everyone says that with your first baby you are usually overdue from your due date, but I have just never really thought that will happen with me. Everything is going great in the pregnancy and my baby boy is healthy happy and strong. I have been measuring larger for the last 2 Dr visits and the Dr said that sometimes that can mean you will go a week or two before your due date as the baby might run out of room and be ready to arrive. I just have this feeling I will go into labour anywhere from 37weeks onwards, possibly around 38-39 weeks. I know there is no way to know until you "find out" hehe, but I can't shake this feeling that I won't make it to my due date of Dec 26th. Either way I know my boy will be ready to arrive when he feels like it, whenever that may be! I am really excited to meet him and am just praying that my little boy is healthy and okay when delivery time approaches. Being a first time mum is surely a very anxious and nervous time and I have never been very good at the waiting game..I can't wait till December!! xo

I know exactly what you mean! I am 32 weeks...almost 33 and I keep feeling like I'm not going to make it to 40 weeks. My baby boy is also measuring big. I just have this feeling...but who knows...it could just be in our heads...I guess we will find out! I am so excited for him to be born. Although I feel him moving around and I have a big belly and tons of heart burn..it just doesn't seem real. I don't think I will actually believe it until he is in my arms! Good luck to ya!

YOU measuring larger is really no indication your baby will arrive sooner. If he/she was measuring ahead from your very earliest u/s and forward, that would be a good indication that your due date may be off and that she may be running out of room. Everyone grows differently.. personally I'm 33wks and yesterday I measured 39wks.. BUT, I haven't gained one OUNCE all pregnancy and infact LOST about 17lbs so far with a steady drop in weight each week.. and I'm pet_te at only 5'2! Also, at my last u/s which was just a week ago at 32wks, the baby was actually measuring a few days behind at 3lbs 15oz. So just because you are measuring large, means nothing, it's just how your body reacts to pregnancy. I think we all secretly wish to have our lo's early because in the beginning of pregnancy, who can phathom 40 weeks!! I had my son at 35wks 11yrs ago due to pre-eclampsia.. your baby is going to come whenever it's going to come.

With my first he came at 38 weeks exact. January: When they gave me my 3rd babies weight from u/s right before they induced me they said she was going to be 6lbs 12ozs and she was only 6lbs 6ozs so they are not always correct. Your baby could be bigger or smaller.

Intuition doesn't always mean something. When I first found out I was pregnant, I had an intuition that it would be twins. From the moment I saw that pink line, I got the number 2 in my head. I have never wanted twins, didn't take any fertility treatments, and twins do not run in my family, and yet I could not shake the feeling that i was going to find out it was twins. My first beta came back with a high level of hCG which convinced me even more. I even told my DH that we were in for a surprise at my first u/s. But my u/s came at 12 weeks, and there was ONE very distinct baby in there!! Just one!! My intuition was definitely wrong! So, while you could, of course go early, any of us could, your intuition might not be something to rely on!

January - how is it possible to measure bigger but weigh less than when you starte? The baby is 3 lbs right? So that plus the placenta plus amniotic fluid, must be at least 5 lbs, and yet you have lost 17???? That does not seem possible, isn't your doctor worried? Aren't you? I don't mean to scare you but my friend only gained 9lbs by 30weeks, and her doctor was alittle concerned. By the end it was a total of 15, and the baby was fine, but how is it possible to lose so much??? Not trying to be rude or anyhting, please don't take offense, i have just never heard of such a thing. Sorry for posting unrelated stuff on your thread, whatsgoingon.

The Dr was worried at first.. which of course made me worry a lot. I've had keytones in my urine since about 14wks or so. Keytones are present when your body is starving. They ran a bunch of tests and have concluded that the baby is sucking me dry. She is taking EVERYTHING I put into my body. They compared the baby to a parasite. They take what they need to survive and grow and we get to keep what's left over. In my case, there is nothing left over. I've had to take extra vitamins to combat it and I don't have any extra fatigue or weakness from it. With my son 11yrs ago I only gained a total of 13lbs my entire pregnancy and they were concerned and had me seeing a nutritionist by 7mo. They told me this time if they thought it was a problem, they would admit me and give me nutrients by IV but they have concluded they don't need to because she is on target and growing. The fact that the baby weights 4lbs now, all the extra blood, fluid, and placenta weight.. just means that infact I've lost MORE than 17lbs but that I'm currently at a negative of 17lbs than where I was when I started. I'm curious how much I'm going to weigh when I give birth.. my guess is about 30lbs less than when I got pregnant.. then again, I still have about 6wks to go if I go to term and that's a lot of time to grow and gain weight. Then again, I've been diagnosed with cholestasis this week and I have an ultrasound in 3wks to see how she's growing and they may take her then.

Well, with my dh, I had that feeling from the beginning, and I was right on. I weighed only 97lbs at the beginning of both my pregnancies, and am 5'2. I told my dr. I didn't think I could make it, so she told me to try to hold on until 36 weeks, so that's what I told my son in my belly at the time. Well, my water broke at 36w1d. He was a good listener:) He had no problems, weighed 6lbs 1 oz, and was happy and healthy. Now, I'm 28w3d with my little girl, and I'm hoping the same happens for her, but if all else fails, I have a scheduled c section a week before my due date:) As long as she's healthy I'll hang in there, but boy am I uncomfortable!
