Is It Ok

Hey, I just wanted to know if it is ok to have intercourse after losing your mucous plug at 32 weeks and cervix already being soft? Could it cause an early labor or is it completely safe? Ever since I lost my plug, I have been afraid to have intercourse, and I know this is getting personal, but I really want to make love to my husband. I do not want him to think I am no longer interested in him. I have only been afraid. :(

no it is not safe to be with your husband in that way anymore. yes you could induce labor and not only that if he would "come" inside you his semin could also induce labor. If you still not sure call and ask your nurse or doctor, but if your thining your bady is already taking its natural process of getting ready for birth. Your husband should be able to understand this. Just talk to him.

All I know is I did lose my mucous plug and that my cervix is soft, but I am not dilated. If the cervix is soft, does that mean thinning? or no? This is also kind of personal, but what about oral? I know I can do for him without causing harm, but what about him to me? (orgasm that way) I know these are personal questions. I hope I am doing no harm in asking. thank you

If your softening your cervix is starting to thin. Oral is ok. Just try to stay away from intercourse till atleast 36 wks. Then it will be pretty safe for you to have your baby. Dont worry about your questions being personal. Everyone needs somewere they can feel ok about asking questions. Its the only way to feel ok and not worry so much. Try to enjoy the rest of your pregnancy, just be alittle patient with your body hun and gl.

Really? My doctor said intercourse was fine as long as he used a condom... Water based lubricant was fine as well...

my doctor told me, the main thing was the orgasm that could stimulate labor. because an orgasm is a uterine contraction. but that doesn't mean that you'll go into labor if your body isn't ready. just because you've lost your mucos plug and your cervix is thin, doesn't necessarily mean you are on the verge of going into labor, although I agree that you should be cautious. (better safe than sorry) Ask your doctor to evaluate your individual case and give you a determination. that's the only way to know for sure. hope everything works out!!!
