First of all, you wil bleed post partum, anywhere from a week to six weeks is normal. After that your period could start back up the next month in some cases. It really depends on your body and wether or not you are b___stfeeding. Usually if you are b___stfeeding it can take several months.

Ok the reason I ask is because I bled for about 2.5 weeks and it slowly dissipated and went away. Then after 4 months of sleeping upright I went back to my bed and laid down flat and the next morning started bleeding bright red again and have been bleeding bright red for the last week or so. You think this is normal? Shouldn't the bleeding be brown or pink and not fresh bright red blood?

It never hurts to call your OB. It may be normal for you, but I can see why you might be concerned. If I were you I would call and make an appointment to be seen just in case. Maybe a quick ultrasound shed some light. Or, maybe you need to be put on some birth control pills to help regulate your cycle? If I were you I would make an appointment. Let me know how it goes.

You should go see your obgyn. I stopped pp bleeding before I left the hospital with my 2nd and after 5 days I began bleeding bright red again and I ended up with a piece of placenta still in and had to have a d&c for removal. I also know someone who let it go and ended up with a horrible infection so I definitley would check. I had my first af pp this time at 4 weeks pp before my 6 week checkup and it was the fastest I had but I did not bf. Hope everything turns out for you and congrats on your new dd.
