From what I've heard/read, no.

They are more painful than braxton hicks, but they aren't really painful in the beginning. More uncomfortable. You will know when you're having them.

No they don't. With my first all I had was a st_tch in my side that went when I stood up. The only reason I went to the hospital was because I saw blood in the toilet after going and I was only 34weeks. I was 6cms dilated and my waters had gone. It was a dream labour but I only wish it had been closer to term. Same thing with my second although it was more an umcomfortable cramping - more like a period than anything really sore. With my third I was induced so the contractions were quite different. Good luck but any regular pain needs to be checked out!

what if you normally get really bad period cramps?would it still feel like that?
