I think I lost my mucous plug but am not sure. . .what does it look like? how do you know? and does that mean labor is any closer?

Your plug looks like snot...gross I know but that is what it looks like. Sometimes it is a ball. It can have traces of blood in it or be a brownish color. It is a step in the right direction for labor! You are getting closer!

I lost my plug 6 weeks ago. This pregnancy it looked like snotty blood, kind of like a bad period. Last time is was the blood tinged snot, and I lost it about 3 weeks before the baby was born. I'm getting induced tomorrow, so after losing the plug 6 weeks ago still no labor.

It's so depressing that there isn't one sure way to know you are close to going into labor. Everyone says something different. I haven't seen anything snotty looking but I have had a lot of braxton hicks...very consistent too. I'm hoping that means something is happening.

Unfortunately, losing your mucus plug only means that labour is imminent, but it can mean as far as 2-4 weeks away. So, hang in there and hope something happens soon.
