Hi am 34 weeks pregnant and for the past two weeks iam having lots of back pain and my stomach gets hard as a rock, and it hurts alot. I told my doctor and she said it was fake contractions. If these are fake boy i dont want to know what the real ones are!!!

The tightening in your abdomen is part of what are known as Braxton HIcks contractions... They are normal and usually somewhat painful the further you are into the third trimester. They do not cause the cervix to dilate or efface. Actual labor contractions will feel different...and they will hurt a lot more. Although it seems some women don't have horrible pain with labor so you could be one of the lucky ones. I wasn't!

I'm 34 weeks 1 day with my first child and have been experiencing the same thing. usually my stomach tightens to hard that I can't sit or stand up straight even. generally mine dont really hurt SEVERELY but I've had some that REALLY do hurt.I MEAN SEVERELY hurt. Also had the back pain.

This has been happening more frequently to me. I've been happening bh contractions for a while now and usually don't know unless I touch my stomach but lately if I'm walking for very long (shopping or whatever) I get them lower and they are far from comfortable especially as they wrap tension around my back like you're talking about. I find myself trying to hold my tummy up to relieve pressure but it doesn't work! So, anyway, I'm with you and the doc said it's normal as I approach the end (currently 36 wks).
