Lower Stomach Pains And Cramps 32 Weeks

I've been having thes mild camps and pains for about a week now. If I tried to decribe them it might be like gas pain, period cramps or an overfull bladder - if those make sense. Everytime I use my stomach muscles, wether to sit, stand, move or anthing, sometimes even not doing anything, it rather hurts. THey seem to be belowe the belly button, not high up. I'm failry sur it's got nohing to do with labour pains (hopefully anyway...) because this is my fourth baby. Everytime I've gone into labour i's been quite sudden and I the pains are excruciating, so unless this is totally different, it's not the same as before. Just wondering if other women this far along are experiencing this and maybe attribute it to something I can do? Idon't really want to call my midwife because they're mild, and probably are gas! Any ideas? Just need to slow down?

I am having the same thing, I am 33 1/2 weeks. I just posted a similiar message. This is my first child so I am not really sure either.

I'm 32wks and just had the same problem last week. The cramps got worse and worse over the course of a week until I started having contractions every 7 minutes. I ended up at the doctors office for monitoring and they talked about moving me to L&D. Turns out it was brought on by dehydration. I thought I was drinking enough, but guess the amniotic fluid reaches its maximum capacity right around 32 wks so our need for fluids is higher than ever. I was told I should be drinking 16 gla__ses of water a day!! They rehydrated me and the contractions stopped and the cramps went away for the most part. I have also dropped this week so that can cause some mild pulling sensations too. So my advice is DRINK, DRINK, DRINK!

It's good to know I'm not alone anyway...16 gla__ses of water?! Well, I can give it a try :-) I'm best friends with the loo anyway. I wouldn't have thought that it might be brought on by dehydration. I honestly don't give much thought to deliberately drinking so this could be it. And as for dropping, I don't know. Thanks for replying Kara H and Shannah, I'll try drinking more and see what happens.

Kara H., I just saw that about the gla__ses of water on Birth Story today. I like water, I just don't know how I'm going to get 16 gla__ses down per day. It's not easy being a mom.

Here's how I break down my 16 gla__ses of water (i count any fluid thats not caffinated as water). I have three 20oz bottles of water over the course of the day (60 oz total which is just shy of 8 gla__ses). On top of that, I drink a 16 oz cup of milk with ovaltine or carnation instant breakfast in it druring the morning while getting ready for work. I will also have either a decaf frappe or a strawberry smoothie during the day which is another 16 oz. I will also have at least one gla__s of something to drink with dinner (lemonade, decaf iced tea, sprite) and most likely at refill which puts me at 14 gla__ses total. I will usually have another big gla__s of milk (sometimes with cookies) during the evening and then I have a gla__s of water by the bed during the night that I sip on when I get up to pee. And that equals 16 gla__ses of fluids. And yes, you do pee a lot, but its much better than contractions. And be sure to limit your caffine as it is will make you more dehyrated than you were before you drank it.
