Measuring Big Need Advice

Hi, This is a question for those experimented moms out there. I'm 31weeks and measuring 35!, two weeks ago I measured 29, so I don't know what's the reason for this huge change, I've been eating healthy an haven't gained that much weight around 27lb. I really want to have a va___al delivery, have any of you go through the same thing and at the end were able to deliver va___al? Does this measurments mean I'll have a big baby? I don't want a c-section and I'm really freaking out!!

No the measurement does not mean baby is large necessarily. I was measuring large too and my dr sent me for test cause he was worried there was possibly too much fluid which can be dangerous if not caught...all was ok though. He said this in no way means my baby will be large...all woman are totally different. I'd ask your dr more questions if I were you. Goodluck!

how did the doctor measure you? if you are talking about fundal height (where he measures your uterus) then this isn't the most accurate measurement, becasue if the baby is stretching or something during the measurement it can make you measure big. the most accurate measurement is with ultrasound and even then, it's just a c___p shoot. I wouldn't worry about it too much. and every woman is different. some women can deliver 10 lb baby's with no problems and some women have difficulties with 6lb babies. God designed us all unique and different. just try to relax and not worry about it so much (easier said than done) and take each day as it comes. good luck!

Thanks Mel and Tamara, my dr. wasn't concerned and send me for an ultrasound next week. I was kind of shocked when he said the measurements, and didn't hit me until I was driving home (I cried all the way back) It's hard not to worry, I had 2 miscarriages, so everytime they send me for an ultrasound to check if things are ok, it really freaks me out... I need to trust more in God and know that He will take care of me and my baby. I know it sounds kind of stupid to be so worried about this little thing, but I can't help it :(

don't beat yourself up. we all worry about little things. the worrying prepares us for all the worrying we will do when these little ones get here. Because that's our number one skill as a mom, PROFESSIONAL WORRIER! ;-P take care.

Sophie, honestly don't worry. I was measuring 40 at 34 wks and I'm fine now...may deliver a bit early but baby looks great from u/s. Worrying will make things worse so just relax (easier said then done I know). Trust in God like you said, He has it under control. Best of luck to you and your baby!!

Thanks Tamara, I really needed to hear that! When is your baby due? Are you going to be induced?
