Measuring Large

At 25 weeks I measured 27, now at 28 weeks I measured 31 and a half . . . my doctor has scheduled an ultrasound for later this week . . . what should I be prepared for as the possible cause(s) for this?

Karen, since about 30 weeks I've measured consistantly 4 cm above avg. I'm 36 wks now and just had a u.s. and they told me my baby's weight is normal, about 6.5 lbs. They also said the fluid level is good which can be another cause for large measurement. The baby could be really long, or because of your body type the uterus may just have to grow larger. Good luck!

sounds like you are having a healthy baby Dont worry about it relax and enjoy the rest of your preg and you may meet your little bundle of joy sooner than you think. measuring ahead is not such a bad thing Good luck

with measurements theres a margin of error of 2 cms.. because depending on how the doctor measures you..so if youre 2 cms above theres nothing to worry about.its a good thing because this means your baby wont have problems with intra-uterine growth retardation.I also usually measure a cm or 2 above..but sometimes I measure right on.
