MUCOUS PLUG QUESTION

Does it have to have blood in it? I just lost a lot of it (like 2 tablespoons full) and it was gross. It was mostly greenish/clearish color but a little was tinged brown color. Does it have to have blood in it to be the actual plug?

Oh no, what you described sounds just lik ethat good old plug. Not all mp's have blood in them, some are just tinged brown or look like big green boogers from what I am told:)

I lost mine yesterday and it wasn't brown, bloody or green. It just looked like a couple gobs of snot. Sorry i know that sounds gross.

HMMM...just a little brownish tint so probably nothing indicating labor! DARN!

If it is tinged brown (meaning old blood) or pinkish it can signify labour could start pretty soon. If it is colouless it can be a few weeks before anything happens - or so I have been told. The colour shows the cervix starting to open as the vessels are stretching.

I think it's different with everyone cus mine had no color and i am 2cm dilated at 41wks tomorrow.
