My Birth Story

She's here everyone!!!! My due date was supposed to be Jan 28, but I had a feeling she was coming early. I was finishing up some work at the office on Sat. because I thought I would go into labor and sure enough I started having mild contractions at abuot 1:30pm. The contractions felt like menstrual cramps so it wasn't much of a bother until abot 6:30pm. At that point they were about 4/5 minutes apart, lasting anywhere from 50-70seconds. DH didn't think they were consistent enough so we didn't make a call to the Dr. until about 9:30pm, at which point they told me to go to the hospital. DH looked at me and said we would probably be back home in an hour. Guess he didn't think that I was in that much pain. Got to the hospital at 9:52 only to find out I was 6cm. Luckily my Dr. was on the way. It took them so long to get back to me because by the time I got the epidural I was 9.5cm and it seems like I could have made it. But I must admit, it really helped a lot. They didn't have time to set up to let me administer more meds if I needed because our little girl was coming. I had 4 real sets of pushes and in 17 mins. our little irl was born. She was a tad on the smaller side (4lbs 15oz) but she was perfectly fine. We're home and trying to adjust now. Good luck to everyone that is left. I hope that you will all have a wonderful birth. See you on infant care!!!
