Nose Bleeds

Hello everyone! I am 33 weeks and my blood pressure has been elevated most of my pregnancy. The last two days I've been experiencing nose bleeds and today I really haven't felt my baby move much. I tried doing my kick counts and I count 4 or 5 an hour. My boss told me to call the doctor's office and let them know about the nose bleeds since this could be from my blood pressure spiking. I have a regular schedule doctor's appointment tomorrow afternoon. Do you think I should call the doctor's today and inform them of what is going on or wait until tomorrow?

While you are pregnant, the respiratory tract lining receives more blood. This is a result of certain hormones that stimulate the blood flow in the body. As a result, the respiratory tract is often much more congested, which may also lead to nosebleeds. A second side effect that this increased flow of blood may have is sensitive or bleeding gums.

Forgot to say I found that info...I'd wait and talk to your doc at your appt tomorrow rather than calling them today.

Nose bleeds can be more frequent with high bp but they are also very normal with normal bp. I have no problem with bp but have had nose bleeds throughout my pregnancy. I get them more often now at 39 weeks. I would let your Dr. now about it tomorrow, but wouldn't worry about it.

Thank you to all who responded. I went to the doctors and my blood pressure was fine. Thanks again and good luck to everyone!
