Odd Question But Afraid You Re Laying On The Baby

This might sound weird, but maybe it's common. I don't know. Now that I am soooo pregnant (36 years, I mean weeks :) ) Whenever I lay down, right or left side, I can never decide if I should stay in that position for long for fear that I am putting too much pressure on the baby, or on the placenta, or on the umbilical cord, or whatever, and I'm so afraid of "hurting" the baby or somehow compromising it by whatever position I am in! Sometimes I just toss and turn over and over again because I can't decide which side to lay on to put less "pressure" on the baby! Anyone else feel this way too??

What you're feeling is perfectly normal....trust me. Im scheduled to be induced this friday (38 wks) and prior to that Ive been having that same problem as well. I was told that baby is cushioned inside so if you lay down either right or left side...ur not hurting your baby bcoz of that amniotic fluid. Don't worry too much. Hang in there!

I think I am just running out of things to worry about,so now I am just worrying about this too! :) Looks like you and I are the only ones online tonight! I was in bed but couldn't sleep so I gave up!

Chrissy......I can't sleep either. I need to be very, very tired in order to fall asleep. Its been very difficult (sleeping) specially when you're this far along (almost 38 wks)

Good thing you only have 2 more nights of this!! But you better get some good rest tomorrow night for your busy morning on Friday!!! Did they give you any "rules" like not eating anything for a certain time, etc etc.??

Tess - May 3

No, not really. Are they supposed though? I was just told to call ahead b4 goin to the hospital. But thanks for bringin that up. I will call tomorrow and find out. :) Is this your 1st baby?

By the way, is this your first?? It is mine. I don't know what I'm having, do you? Are you nervous? I would be!

Oh funny, our messages must have crossed! I wasn't sure if there were any rules, I haven't heard that there are, but I thought maybe.

That is so exciting. I bet you have been having a blast shopping for cute little girl outfits!! Do you have a name?? If ours is a boy, it will be Brady, but if it's a girl, we aren't sure. Thinking about Alexia. I like Callie, but DH doesn't. Oh well, we'll figure it out when the time comes, I guess! I am really excited for you. I hope it goes well, and goes fast for you! I guess I'll sign off for now and try to sleep again. Have to get up pretty early for work. Nice talking with you! I hope to hear from you when you are home and feeling better! I will definitely be thinking of you Friday morning! - C :)
