I am in my third trimester and I have a constant pain and pressure in my right ribs. I think the baby is pushing on this spot. Can I do something to move him or make the pain stop?

the only thing you can really do is change the position youre in and maybe itll move him from being able to keep hitting that spot. i have this problem all the time..sometimes to where i can even get to sleep at night because its so bad.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM ALL THE TIME EXCEPT MY PAIN IS ALWAYS IN MY LEFT RIB. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THIS IS THE BABY EITHER PUSHING OR LAYING AGAINST MY RIBS. THERE IS REALLY NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT EXCEPT WAIT IT OUT AND HOPE THEY MOVE.

Hi Amanda. I have the same problem and I was told in my prenatal cla__s that a hot or cold pack can cause that baby to move positions. My baby is always on my left rib and I get a numb & tingly sensation there. I have tried ice and I have tried heat and both seem to work, depending on your baby's preference. Or sometimes, I will ma__sage gently under my rib and this will cause baby to move position. Good luck!

I get the same thing, I was looking for solutions too, it seems like no matter what I do it hurts, Im glad to hear that the tingling sensation is normal though. thanks

Hi Amanda, I have been complaining about this for a few weeks now, and I find the pain to be unbearable sometimes. But now I know what it is, after I saw the ultrasound, I found out that my baby's right foot is pushed up against my right ribs, just at the top underneath my b___st. He is twisting his foot into my ribs. I feel better knowing what it is. The Ultrasound is a good way to find out exactly which of the baby's extrematies is doing this. Good luck to you.

I am in my third trimester and am having pain right underneath my right b___st. Its been there for about a week. I feel it on a constant bases, it gets worse when I cough. Its just in one spot and I don't feel anything different in that spot either.

I am also having a pain in the left rib. I have got a good remedy. Lift your hands up and that will bring your ribs up from the womb.

I have the same problem and I don't think it's the baby because I am carrying her so low... what else could it be? pressure from something else, maybe?

My Dr. told me there is a kind of ligament there that is pulling and that is what I am feeling. I'm so happy he told me this so now I know what it is and that it is perfectly normal. Chances are you are feeling that too. I'm also very small so mabey I'm thinking that has something to do with it?
