How many of you have gone out and already found a Pediatrician before your baby is born? I hear so many different stories. Do we need one before I deliver?

Yes. You need to have a pediatrtician or docter picked out before your baby cam leave the hospital. Atleast thats been my experience. In fact- most places ask you that when you register at the hospital to give birth- I believe. Atleast mine did. I read the same thing in the pregnancy books I have-That you need to have your pediatrician picked out ahead of time.

I did find a ped before my daughter was born. You mostly want to have one before because he/she comes to the hospital to check out the baby. But if you don't pick one before, the hospital should have one on staff that will do it. If you have strong views on, for example, b___stfeeding, immunizations, or co-sleeping, you shold interview a couple differents peds so you can find one that shares and supports your views. Plus, your baby goes for a well baby visit a few days to a week after birth and its a lot easier if you have one picked out already. Thats just one less thing you'll have to worry about after your baby is born.
