when I stand up I get this horrible pressure right in front of my va___a...like a horrible pressure...when I sit it goes away. I feel like I have to pee everytime I stand up but when I try to go nothing comes out...I couldn't sleep last night due to miscomfort. is this pain from the baby dropping? (i just had an appt on friday and the dr said baby was head down but high) could the baby have dropped now?

Is it like on the pubic bone in the front? or more like the area where you pee? because i have HORRIBLE pain on my pubic bone like its shattered, its worse at night and when i first wake up, i think the side lying position hurts it more but what can i do? it started the past couple weeks and gets progressively worse...she wasnt dropped when it started but maybe as she descends it gets worse or as she gets heavier, i dont know. i never asked the doctor about it, although ive read that it can be normal since the pelvic bones are moving around as we get closer to labor

yes it feels like its across the pubic bone...and sometimes its like the pain goes in further...I also have off and on rectal pressure (sorry tmi) before the pain I could pee a lot...I am still taking in the same amount of water...but I ca only get a little trickle every 10 to 15 mins or so...the baby is still moving...(but I find it hard to figure out body parts) this pain is quiet extreme.... I'm still having off and on bh...but nothing that seems promising.... I really want to know if thebaby has dropped I don't go to the dr till friday....

oh i have the same pain as you then. it is terrible! i go in to the doctor today and i'll try to remember to ask him about it, i was too excited about my progress last week to remember my questions. does it look like your stomach is lower? ive been trying to figure out if my baby has dropped or not yet too, but as of last monday she was still -2 station...and i was having that pain already then. but this week has been a LOT worse!

oh and yes, i have been peeing a lot more frequently as well the past week too, and not very much comes out....maybe our babies are dropping or already have! i cant wait to find out today since that means that im pretty much officially ready for her already....i am 3cm dialated, lost mucous plug, LOTS of BH, and get contractions at least once a day...oh lets hope we're close tish!!!

I really hope u do remember to ask.... and thanks! its freaking me out b/c I'm so lost...the pain is completely new.... and I can't get comfortable at all..... sitting, standing, laying etc its all uncomfortable... I didn't get an internal exam last week so I don't know where I am...they just felt the babies head and said it was hige...b/c th baby was pulling back with each contraction.... here is hoping! I can't wait to meet my lo! and I'm sure ur ready to go too!

oh yes, i really have a strong feeling she'll be before the beginning of next week one way or the other...my theory has been the reason that pregnancy gets so uncomfortable and even painful the closer you get to labor is so that mentally you are prepared to have the baby born, otherwise, honestly id be sooo terrified of the pain of labor that i would probably just keep waiting a little while longer if it was my choice, lol...but ya, the pain is really bad, and i have mornings where i can barely walk! as the day goes on it starts to get better though i can still only waddle and take small steps

my hubby has the same therory he was telling me that the other night.... guess great minds think alike... when I first get up I have to carefully put my weight down...otherwise I get excurtiating pain in my hips....but now the pain has moved forward .... it also feels like a have to pee pressure.... that pain u get if u hold it in too long...its hard to explain.... I'm getting more contractions but I don't think they're anything more than bh...but we will see...

I've always heard that if you have the urge to pee, but it doesn't come out to call your doc and let them know. It has a name for it, I have no idea what it's called, but it's not a UTI or bladder infection.. Sounds like the baby has dropped.. I would definitely contact my doc if I were in that situation, just to make sure everything is ok. :)

the pain is really common late in pregnancy i found this about it in an article on a site for midwives: Public bone pain. Late in pregnancy, some women have pubic bone soreness and aching that gets worse when they walk, swim, or do other exercises. Pregnancy hormones loosen up the joints of the pelvis, including the connection between the sides of the pubic bone at the bottom of your abdomen. This lets the pelvis become more flexible during labor as the baby moves forward. (This also explains the "waddle" that women have late in pregnancy). This same flexibility can also create the aches and soreness throughout the pelvis, but especially in the pubic bones. Try warm baths for relief.
