Hi, Im waiting for a call back from my dr, got off work yesterday early bc I had a blackout spell, or so I thought, but people told me I was seizing when I fell. I read this is a sign of preenclampsia, my bp was a lot higher although not in red area just yet . I also have a real bad headache. Anyone else ever have seizures? What were yours like, what were you diagnosed with and how high does BP have to be to be preenclampsia my sys was like 139, is that bad?

I don't know what to tell you, I've had blackouts during my pregnancy, but it has been b/c of bllod sugar getting too low (can't keep food down). I do have preeclampsia and the "magic" number that the dr looked for in my blood pressure was 140/90 (the bottom number is the scary number) and they also check protein in your urine (high blood pressure alone could possible mean just high pih - pregnancy induced hypertension) My 24 urine test measured 410 mg protein spilled. The "magic number here was 300. This is just mild preeclampsia - severe (where you more often have siezures) the protein level is usually around 5,000 mg and blood pressure is usuall 160/ 110 (i think it's 110 - I know it's over 100). Hope this can help you out a little.

My bp was 160/110 the last couple weeks of my first pregnancy. I didn't have any seizures, but I was told to go to the ER if I had any headaches. I had my baby at 36 weeks because of preeclampsia. I think I would have gone to the hospital if I had blacked out...but then I'm a big worry wart.

I agree with Jbear - I always went in to the hospital with my blackoiuts.

I've gone through the same thing. BP of 140 or more is what they look for in preeclampsia.
