I am just curious as to what presentation means when it is used in pregnancy? I am from Canada and we get these sheets detailign the pregnancy so that the hospital will already know everything about your pregnacy when you go into labour or for anyother reason and i noticed today that it has always said 6 for presentation now today they wrote a 2 there...

Presentation means the part of your baby that is coming out first. Like if he is head down then that's the presenting part. I'm not sure about the numbers though...maybe they meant station?

Okay.. thank-you for the comment. Just curious what do you mean by "station"? I am having a stupid day today.lol.

It's how deep the baby's presenting part is in your pelvis. I think they start at -5, and then go -4,-3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3,4,5. Like if the baby is -5 they say it's floating, meaning hasn't dropped yet, then at 0 the baby is said to be engaged - ready for labor, and at 5 the baby is crowning - at the edge of your v____a. Like at my last doc's appt, she told me my baby girl was at -3, and she could touch her head, but she would float up when she did that. When they are at 0 they just stay there, and don't float up if you press on them

thank you lena.. alot of the time my doctor just does what he gotta go and than iam on my merry way. i get the chance to ask questions but this week there was a sub doctor and she didnt really seem to care about too much of anything that i told her. and never noticed what she wrote on my paper until i was on my way home/ next week's appoinment will be much better, back to regular doctor. once again thank you for replying.
