well i no longer have a choice. the dr today told me that since im STILL not dilated at ALL that they are canceling my induction and i have to wait another two weeks before they'll induce me. what the F****!!???? at first, if you didnt know, they were going to induce me at 39 weeks.excuse my language but im so tired of my drs office. one dr tells me one thing and another tells me something completely different. they cant get their shit together, period apparently. its making me very angry. ive been looking forward to this, even if i was nervous and then the DAY BEFORE they tell me that theyre canceling it and i have another two weeks. shes NEVER GOING TO COME OUT, im going to be pregnant forever. im so tired of this. i hate my body. it wont work. my cervix wont open at all. no progress AT ALL. im going to end up with a csection and i know it. im a hormonal wreck, upset, frustrated and my body is suffering. im in so much pain from carrying her , another two weeks seems like theres just no way i can do it.. what am i going to do????

Oh man I am so sorry to hear that you're going through this! I can't imagine how you must be feeling. I wish I could say something to make you feel better, but I can't. Again, I am so so so sorry!!

Mrs.Steve - September 24

I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through such a tough ordeal. I can imagine how frustrated and angry you must be. You have every right to be upset. I don't blame you at all. Do what you can to keep yourself as comfy as possible and hang in there. You won't be pregnant forever, even though it feels that way. Your lo will be here before you know it.

tonia - September 24

Amanda, I am sorry you have to go through this frustration. But, maybe, just maybe, if they try to induce you without your cervix showing signs of readiness it could cause you to have to have a c-section. I am right here with you. I am so ready for my lo to be born and every day seems like an eternity! Are you effaced? Maybe your cervix will start opening any moment now!

HeavenisMine - September 24

I'd be a wreck! You poor girl...keep going and do whatever you can to get by. Perhaps you can get labor started, I hear stress can start it, though it's not the best way. I'm hoping and praying this happens for you soon!

Mrs.W. - September 24

Amanda, sorry you have to go through this! If it helps any, I am 39 weeks today and have absolutely NO sign of labour what so ever either! I am not dialated (as of last thursday), I have no contractions, nothing! I know it's frustrating but hang in there!

first-timer - September 24

You should try not to get frustrated because your body is going to do what your body is going to do. Your doctors are likely just concerned that if your cervix is not responding then the baby is not likely ready either. Hey, look at me, I am 40w5d and only 1cm along ( have been for two weeks ) and have had my membranes stretched and swept three times now with no progress. It is likely for the best to wait it out a bit longer and enjoy the time you have even though it is totally impossible not to be anxious.

so sorry for your frustration. i know my doc won't induce unless you are 'favorable', i.e. showing some signs already and dilating a bit. although she plans to induce me at 39w, it will only be if i am favorable. i know things can change quickly, so i am trying to prepare myself to be realistic and just go with the flow. hard to do when you are dealing with our crazy prego hormones and frustration like this. try and hang in there. i'll pray your sweet little angel makes an appearance sooner rather than later and is healthy and ready!

Krissy25 - September 24

That really sucks, the doctor should have told you he would only induce if you were progressing so you didn't get your hopes up, but honeltly i have read some induction horror stories where the doctors tried to induce and nothing happened after like 20 hrs and these women were sent home and had to come back a few days later only to go through the same thing again. Give your body a chance to progress a little, in fact you may end up going into labor on your own. I'm sorry that's probably not what you want to hear, i know how uncomfortable you are right now. I hope everything works out for you.

afireinsideamanda - September 24

well im over 80% effaced, just not dilated...shes dropped, shes killing me!!! my lower back and pelvis hurt so badly i cant walk...i want her to come on her own but ive done just about everything... including s_x,masturbation(sorry tmi) nipple stimulation, stairs, walking, spicy food,... i dont know what else to do. i just want her to come out!

aliciavr6 - September 24

I wouldn't get TOO stressed til you hit 40 weeks. I was in the same boat, no dilation and 80% effaced, then 40weeks and 1day, had my baby. Just think, if you were induced and not quite ready yet, could be a LONG hard labor, rather than it coming naturally at about 40 weeks (crosses fingers)

alirenee86 - September 25

So sorry for your frustration....but stressing will make it so much worse. Just relax as best you can and let your pregnancy naturally take it's course as much as possible. I think these doctors, no matter how good or not, truley don't know a lot themselves until last minute. I have an excellent group of gyno's in my dr. office that have all been pretty much up front in saying even the best doctor's can only tell so much until last minute. I've asked over and over about telling me if I'm too narrow for the baby to fit through and they just don't know. I know some say they can tell you if you're measuring small, etc...they tell me everything seems to be measuring perfectly. Have faith in your doctors and go with what they're most definately WON'T be preganant forever and shouldn't want to induce something on your body that's not ready to go yet!

afireinsideamanda - September 26

thanks for the encouragement

I'm sorry you have to go through this, but your doctor's right.. if they tried to induce you and your cervix wasn't dilated at ALL, the chance of you having a C-section is reallllly high. They don't usually induce unless you are at least progressed a little bit. And I wouldn't worry, first time moms usually go late and progress later, I'm sure that you will start to dilate within the next week or two, you just have to be patient.. hard as that is! I was around 1 cm dilated or less at 39/40 weeks and had my baby at 40 weeks and 3 days.

DDT - September 26

You can start to dilate very quickly when the time is right for your baby. For example: I was 0cm dilated/70% effaced at 39w3dand then had my baby at 39w6d. Your baby will decide its time to come out when she is good and ready. If I were you I would catch up on as much sleep as possible and have some one-on-one time with your dh, because when that baby finally does come youre going to be overwhelmed, very exhausted, and your relationship with dh will be put on the back-burner for a little while. Everyone told me to get as much rest before the baby comes...I ignored them not knowing what those first 2 months would actually be like. GL!

its good to hear how quick it can change..

Brendansmom - September 27

I know this may sound way out there, but try ma__saging the area between your ankle bone and heel. If you ever get a prenatal ma__sage they will skip this area. I have a good friend who is a ma__sage therapist and she said that ma__saging this area really can induce labor. Another one of our good friends was so ready to have her baby so she suggested the ankle ma__sage and I believe that it was later that night that she went into labor. She was near her due date so who knows if it was just a coincidence, but you never know. There has to be some truth to it if this area is avoided during prenatal ma__sages. It's worth a try! Good luck and it will all be over soon!
