Some Of These Dr Appts Make Me Wanna Scream

I'm 36 weeks and I'm seeing my doctor every week. I just recently went to the hospital, I thought my water broke, turns out it didn't but I started having contractions, I'm 1 1/2 cm dilated and went from 40% effaced to 80%. They had to give me medicine twice to stop the contractions...Anyways, I went to the doctor yesterday and for some reason I had to see a nurse instead of a doctor. Well, I spend an hour in the waiting room...I go in, she does the Group B Strep I think it is, drops the swab and has to do it again. Then says, "You're 36 weeks? I won't bother checking you this time"...I think everybody would want to know how they're dilating and everything...and I'd also lost 3 lbs and she says nothing, I lost this in like 5 days. From they way its looking I think I'll go into labor before Feb. 9th...but I had to vent, I mean, I went in there wanting to know if there was any progress and she just walked in and walked out basically. She didnt' even ask if I had any questions...arr!

Doesn't sound like the nurse even read your cahrt or was familiar with what's going on. You should have said something while you were there.

I know, I was p__sed...I should have...Now that I think of it, I don't know why I didn't.

It is kind of hard to really know what to say or do when the dr. or nurse just breezes in and out, and then later you kick yourself for not saying the right things. Even though I like my dr pretty well, sometimes I get better luck asking questions of the nurse that brings my chart back. Since she's worked there a while, she can answer a lot of the simpler questions I have, or even pa__s along info to the dr if I think I'm going to forget it.
