Spotting After Internal Exam

Did you ladies spot after the dr. checked for dilation and effacement and if so, for how long?

I do every time. It is never bright red though, just pink or brown. It usually stops after two to three days. There is a lot of blood flow down there during pregnancy. It is normal as long as it is not bright red or a lot of blood.

Kara, thanks. I spotted for 24 hours. It was actually bright red for the first 3 hours and the dr. said it was normal and as the day went on it turned pink and now it's gone. It was so weird seeing blood again! It's been 9 months since my period!

It is completly normal to spot for up to 24 hrs. after an internal. Even if you know it might happen it can still be a little unnerving seeing the first time.

Yes, it is completely normal to spot after a check up. Just be sure you do not fill a pad.

I am 40 weeks pregnant today and was checked for dilation/effacement and have been spotting for the first time.

I had spotting for about 12 hours following a dilation / effacement check. I am 35 weeks and the blood was red at first and changed to brown then went away altogether.
