Steady Contractions 36 Weeks HELP

I am 36 weeks today. Last Friday night I began vomiting and ended up in the hospital because of extreme dehydration. I was getting contractions 2 1/2 minutes apart, but as I was getting more fluids, they were 5 minutes apart. I was in the hospital for 2 days and two nights. They said they would not stop labor if it began. As tired as I am of being pregnant, I really don't want my baby to come early!! I want him as healthy as possible. I was only dialated to a 1 when I left the hospital. Baby's heart beat was over 180 because of my fever. I am concerned now because beginning two nights ago I've had steady contractions. Some hurt, some don't. Some feel like menstraul cramps, other are worse, with some sharp pain. My Dr. said the contractions might not go away. I am concerned because they are between 4 and 8 minutes apart. Every nurse that checked me exclaimed that the baby's head is so low!! However, my cervix was in the back of the baby's head. Does anyone know if it's normal to have such frequent contractions at barely 36 weeks and what it means to have the baby's head so low this early? I'm really scared because I want a full term baby. Any advice will help!! Thanks!!

I heard of people going for weeks feeling like this! but i do understand your concern! Just like Lala says drink lots of water.. and rest... I also had some preterm labour scares... I had an irritable uterus also ! (what a pain) anyways 37 weeks is full term so you don't have much longer :) GL!

oh, also with all that water drinking, keep your bladder emptied. Whenever mine gets alittle bit full, I start contracting.
