I have had a stuffy nose for couple of days and went to the store today and bought one of the vapor plugs. Then after I had gotten home and had it plugged in for a bit realized it says do not use during pregnancy or around babys under 3 months old. Does any one know why we are not supposed to use this product? and since I did have it plugged in for a few minutes did I harm us or if it is ok to go ahead and use it? I had my husband go and unplug them all just in case.

In case anyone is curious about this I called my doc and she said that I should not use it. She really could not give me a reason why other than there have not been tests done to prove that it is safe since it is is unethical to do test on pregnant woman and it is not a product that they would consider doinng testing on since it is not medically nessasary so I should stay away just in case it is not safe for the baby. She said she is not worried about the time that I was exposed to it since it was for such a short time.

there is a website someone on the forum listed before it might have a reason.. You can look up all sorts of medicines to see if they are safe or not.. of course checking w/ your doctor first is a good idea.. but it might give you an idea why you cant use it. its called safefetus. c o m
