Hi, I was just wondering whether a Thank you gift should be given to the host. My friend just hosted a baby shower for me, should I give her thank you gift. Any suggestions.

My mom and sister hosted my shower and I felt like a thank you card wasn't enough so I sent them flowers with a special note. Also cookies sent from Cheryl and company is a good idea (unless she is diabetic or managing her weight).

BTW- If you send the flowers to her office or at home it always makes that person feel good. I love getting flowers at the office.

I gave my hostesses at my shower cute windchimes

My hostess was planning a trip to Europe, so I gave her a couple of travel books. Until my dh gave me that idea, I was going to give her a really nice candle from Pier One or something.

I agree that I thank you gift is appropriate and needed for hostesses of any shower. Candles are a great idea as well as all the others. Gourmet coffee/flavored tea is one I have used with a cute mug. I also love to give Homemade Gourmet food packets in baskets as thank yous.

I never even thought about a gift for the host. That is a really good idea.

I too wanted to get something for my MIL and SILs for hosting a baby shower for me, so I goet my MIL an engravable picture frame to be engraved with the baby's name when the time comes. I also am in the process of trying to find wine with the word baby in the t_tle to give to my SILs with some wine charms that I made. I hope these and thank you cards will be enough.
