I have been waking up and having this loss of feeling in my right hand- mainly the middle finger and pointer finger and now it is starting to happen during the day- is this normal part of pregnancy? I have been tested several times for gestational diabetes because I am spilling sugar in my urine, but at my 1 hr, 3 hr and 2 hr blood tests- the blood level seems to be ok...I didnt know if this tingling was part of GD they are not caching or soemthing? any advice?

Could be blood pressure related and fluctuations of it are normal in pregnancy. Report it to your doc though so he or she can rule out other potential problems.

I bet it may be carpral tunnel, which is an inflammation of sorts in your wrists, and can cause numbness. It is VERY common in pregnancy, and can manifest with symptoms such as you describe. check with your dr. but it could Definitely be carpral tunnel which is basically harmless, just annoying. if so, it is from the fluid buildup in your body and the excess muscle and tendon relaxation from pregnancy hormones.

Yep, sounds like carpal tunnel syndrome. The good news is it usually disappears when you have your baby.

weird... I get numbness in my left hand, usually it's my ring and pinky fingers... let us know if you find out what it is. I usually forget to ask my doctor things when I go see him!

It is carpal tunnel, most likely. I've had it in both of my pregnancies. This time I actually get large blue spots on my hands that go with the pain. My doctor wasn't really concerned about the spots, and said the pain would go away once the baby's born. It did go away right after I had my daughter, by the time I left the hospital I wasn't having the problem anymore.
