Trouble Breathing

I"m almost 27 weeks along and for the past week I've been having a hard time breathing. I could be just sitting at my desk and then all of a sudden I feel like someone has taken all my air away and my heart starts beating really fast. This happens a couple of times a day. Is this normal? Any ideas to help it?

I have this too, I always say I feel like an extremely obese smoker. I have been told the baby is pushin on our lungs and makin things tight in there....I will be 39 weeks on Sunday and it only gets worse, especially since my little one hasnt dropped yet... and the rib kicks are even worse!!!!

That makes me feel better that I'm not alone. Some times I get really scared because my mom died of a heart condition at the age of 35 with no warning at all. So anytime I have problems with breathing I get a little scared.

It probably has a lot to do with your posture too while you're pregnant. If you're sitting down a lot, we tend to hunch and that decreases our lung capacity. It's happened to me a few times, so I sit up straight and take several slow "belly" breathes (if you do yoga you'll know how to do these ones).

I get that also. Sometimes I feel like I smoked a whole carton of smokes !!! It's just our baby pushing our lungs aside !!

I think it's from hormones too. I get it bad, just out of the blue. But, my baby has already dropped and is very low. Didn't seem to help at all.
