Turned To Breech Position At 34 Weeks

Hi Girls, Last night my baby boy kept me up almost the whole night turning himself back into "feet first" position. I know this because I can literally feel his feet or a foot in my va___al area! It is very painful and uncomfortable when he kicks. My question is, has anyone else had a baby turn back into the right position this late in pregnancy? I thought for sure that he would remain head down since being in that posotion for several weeks now. He really surprised me by turning last night. Thanks!

Hi Cat, sorry I don't really have an answer for you but, could it possibly be a hand or fist that you're feeling?

well that bites. if he's got room to turn heads up, he's still got room to turn heads down. so hang in there.

Hi cat - my baby was head down at my 32 week appointment. When I had an u/s at 33.2 weeks, she was breech. Then at my 34 week appt., she was back head down. My doctor will continue to watch it, but the baby should settle into the final position in a few weeks. I know when she was breech, it felt like she was stepping on my bladder and everything else, and it was so uncomfortable. I hope your little man returns to the correct position soon! Good luck!

How do they know if your baby is head down? I don't get any more ultrasounds, so I'm interested in knowing how they figure it out so there are no surprises at L&D.

Sorry cat! I wasn't trying to be ignorant and ignore what you posted! I wouldn't worry about it too much. It sounds like he may be very active and just re-exploring his now squished home! I'm sure he'll turn again soon.

You're welcome, cat! sparkles, I was having a 3D u/s when they told me she was breech. Prior to that , the doctor had figured out she was head down by feeling my belly, quite forcefully I might add! It was not pleasant. I just hope all our babies stay where they are supposed to. My friend's daughter turned breech while she was in labor so she ended up with a c-section because of it. Here's to a head down baby and smooth delivery!
