Turning A Breech Baby

I am 37 weeks & yesterday at my check up the dr. discovered that my baby was in breech position & scheduled me to be admitted to labor & delivery on Monday to "turn" my baby. I am unaware of this routine & would like some advice & "words of wisdom" from anyone who has experienced this method. Will it send me in labor? The chances of this actually working & how painful can this be?

genna, the only way it would send you into labor is if they break your water bag but thats really rare. it is very painful but you will get through it i promise. the chances of turing a beech baby working is like 65% out of 100%. sometimes the baby just has been in that position to long and wont move. good luck hope this helps

Hi Genna; My 2nd baby was in a tranverse lie and so they made me to a version procedure as well.I was very nervous but it turned out great. The doctor came in and then with the use of ultrasound managed to turn my baby on first try. That was unusually fast though and even the doctor was surprised. It did not send me into labor but they did induce me the same day just because they said it was better to get him out while he was head down so I agreed to the induction.By the way all I felt was some pressure but nothing that I couldn't deal with so I hope everything works out for you.I guess you must have had teh procedure by now.

The doctors tried to turn my daughter three times. Never worked and was pretty uncomfortable. Ended up having a ceserean.
