Hello I am 29 weeks and I am going to my doctors appt this week. I put on 6 lbs this month. NOw i am up to 28 pounds. What had everyone else gained? Everyone that see's me says I am so small so why have I gained so much weight. I am tall, 5'10" and my doctor said I will gain 35 pounds but at this rate it could be 45!!!!!

I'm 30 weeks and I've gained 28 lbs. I'm 5'5" and my doctor is not worried about it.

Hi Shannah. I am currently 37 weeks and at 28 weeks I had gained about 30 lbs. Then, at my 32 weeks appt I had put on 6 more lbs!! However, I have completely stopped gaining and I am ready to go into labor at any time now so I "think" I have ended witha 36-38 lb weight gain - which is good for me!!!

I am 5'5" and at 35 weeks I've gained 40 pounds. Getting through this last month has been very hard for me. I am not hungry like I should be and have been making myself eat meals because I am worried about the baby not doing well. This has probably contributed to my weight gain because I was always around 30 pounds before. I'm trying to really be careful about what I eat now because I really don't want to go over 40 pounds.

29 pounds is perfectly fine! I'd gained almost exactly that at 29 weeks, and haven't gained really anything since, which isn't great but I'm still vigorously eating. (I'm 36 weeks now.) That window between 26 - 29/30 weeks is usually a huge growth spurt for everyone. Don't worry, it's really doubtful you'll gain 45 pounds by 40 weeks! Though many of my friends did, and carried it beautifully, I should add. It's really not that much, when you consider all that you're carrying.

Thanks for the all the responses, I guess I should worried too much about it. Just try to continue eating healthy!

I TOO AM 5'10, AND LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT SOME WEIGHT GAIN, WITH THE LAST 2 PREGNANCIES I GAINED 75LBS..... AND THIS TIME I'M AT 31LBS WITH 2 WEEKS LEFT. IT DOESN'T MATTER ENJOY IT YOU CAN EAT ALL YOU WANT AND NOT FEEL GUILTY..

I am 38 weeks and have gained 31lbs. However, I had gained 25lbs by the time I was 30 weeks.....so (for me) it has really slowed down. Dont worry....some people gain more in the beginning, and some people pack it on at the end.

There is nothing you can do about it. I gained 85 pounds and at my 2 week postpartum appointment I had dropped a killer 48 pounds! Your body will gain what it wants. I was 140 when I got pregnant and 226!! when I delivered. I had a c-section and the dr said he took out gallons of fluid. My doctor was never worried about it.

I'm 29 weeks and gain a pound every 3 days about. My total weight gain is only 15 pounds right now, but it has almost all been within the past 4 weeks. I heard this is the fastest growing time for us. (I'm 5'6")

I am 30 weeks and have gained so far 21 lbs. I dont nderstnd it though because I ook exactly like I did before I got pregnant exept for my belly. I look like I swallowed a basketball. I know between the sac, placenta, and baby weght it doesn't add up to 21 lbs. Maybe my b___t got bigger and I just dont notice it !! HAHA

I am 5'5" & 33 1/2 weeks and have gained 30 lbs. At my last doctors appt. I had gained 10 lbs in a month! I was shocked! I thought I was doing good only gaining 20 lbs and then WHAM I was at 30 lbs! I was upset about it at first but now I have learned to deal with it. I think everyone goes through that big growth spurt. I think I will be happy if I end up gaining 40 lbs in all. (I only wanted to gain 30 but thats out of the question now) haha :)

Hi, 29 weeks here and I've gained about 22-23 pounds. I think your weight sounds really normal! No worries! I think age makes it more difficult to lose the weight. I'm 33. Does anyone else think that's true, too?
