What Do I Do Wait Or Not

I have been having stomach pains, all day, not sure if they are contractions or not. Im 35 weeks and this is my first. The dr. said they were a few weeks ago, but they were braxton hicks. I've also been cramping like a period and now I have pains down 'there'... They aren't actually where the baby comes out.. but they are like on the sides of my va___a. I've also got diahrrea now and my back hurts.. Should I go to the ER and get checked out tonight or should I just wait and see if it gets worse or not.. Im not sure what to do.. My mom tells me to go but I dont want to go and the dr think Im stupid bc there aren't any signs of actual labor...

With my first, I always thought I was in labor. The doctor kept telling me that I will know the difference between real labor and false labor. Boy, was he right! The chance is still there that you could be in early labor, but I think you can tell. After you give birth, you'll feel kinda silly you thought you were in labor all those times. The symptoms you describe above are exactly what I felt with my first when I though I was in labor, however no doctor or nurse should think your stupid for going in just in case.

ekay is right...I am 39 with my second and I still dont remember what the difference is between false and real labor. I already went to the hospital and was sent home because it was false labor. A lot of woman need advise because they have doubt whether labor i real or not. Like they say when in doubt call your doctor, np or midwife.

It's better to be safe than sorry. If you are having regular contractions that don't go away after a couple hours even after you lay on your left side and drink lots of fluids, or walk around a bit, then you should go and make sure. My dr said regular contractions that don't go away after a couple hours (especially if you have more than 4-6 an hour) is a reason to go to labor and delivery and be checked. Don't worry about what anyone thinks. That's what they are there for and they aren't going to think anything negative about you. This is their job. I would get checked if you are still having the same symptoms.

I think I would call the doctor, if I were you. Don't worry about the doctor thinking you're silly or whatever...I think it's really common for women to think they're in labor, even when it's not their first child (my mom went to the hospital four times when she was pregnant with my youngest sister, before she was really in labor). It's much better to call the doctor, or go and get checked out, than it would be to stay home if it's really labor.
