What Happens If

Has this happened to anyone? I am to be induced at 38 weeks for obstetric cholestasis. In England we do it with the prostoglandin gel - starting monday am and pm, tues am and possibly pm. Because we are going from a "standing start", I have heard stories that sometimes nothing happens. My obstetrician is being a little coy on if this happens, whether I go home and try again in 48hrs, or whether to have a semi-elective section. I have to admit, the thought of a section does not bother me - in fact I have a low threshold for this during labour if anything starts to go wrong anyway......any experience or advice in this scenario? Thanks

Hi Jean - November 25

Thanks for the reply...My obstetrician has told me I will not go onto a drip unless my cervix is favourable - as its like kicking against a locked door!!!! At least he seems sensible, if not a little cautious!!
