What To Pack In My Hospital Bag

So as the time gets closer I am now starting to get together the final details and it has come time to pack my bag. I have never been able to show self control when vacationing and even if its just a weekend trip I always end up with a monster suitcase so any help from experience Mom's would be great as I don't want the staff to think I moving in! I know I will need an outfit for coming home, some slippers, fuzzy socks, underwear and nursing bras, 2 pairs of pajamas, maxi pads, and personal hygeine items. Is there anything else I should bring, or am I already going overboard?

Don't forget things you will need for the baby like a baby book for foot prints, blanket, carseat and coming home outfit.

Little Taylor has her own bag with stuff for coming home and things she might need whilest we are in the hospital! Is it not normal to pack baby their own bag? Oh dear, now am I am starting to think I may truly be a packing freak!

Oops ment to put to Kr in the name area...sorry!

It's normal, that way DH won't have to go rooting through your things to reach the baby's. Do you wear contacts? If so you might want to bring gla__ses. How about a list of people to call from the hospital?

Camera, film, batteries, cellphone charger (I'm actually bringing my laptop, as there's wireless at the hospital and I'm having a C-section so I'll be there a few days). My laptop has ALL my music downloaded so I don't have to mess with CDs, we can just keep a steady stream of our favorite music going. Your OWN lotion and kleenex (the hospital stuff sucks) and a journal if you like to do that. I just packed all of my BF's stuff (toothbrush, deodorant, etc.) as it's easy to forget that he's going to be right there with us the whole time! Good luck! (And I, too, packed the diaper bag with the baby's things.)

at my lamaze cla__s they told us to pack a big bag and a small bag. the small bag...stuff you'll need for labor, (ie: tennis b___s for back labor, focal point, music, movies, games, cards, etc.) the big bag...stuff for after labor (ie: night gowns, robes, personal stuff, etc.) then put the little bag into the big bag so there's only one bag to carry. That way you can just rip out the little "labor" bag and throw the other bag full of junk elsewhere. Also, don't forget a towel for the car ride to the hopital so you don't get your seat all yucky. :)

Oooh... it is good you mentioned a towel for the car ride there. I would not have thought of that!

One thing that I have to put in there for sure, but isn't on any list I've read is change for parking....you don't want to have to stop at the store to try and get the right change

At my birh cla__s they also recommended snacks for your labor support person, as well as aroma therapy oils or something you find soothing and your own pillows, (hospital pillows can be really uncomfortable).also if you have lng hair hairbands to keep it out of the way. I think that's all that wasn't mentioned.
