My boss asked me today when I was going to take my materniaty leave...I am due on June 10 and I said my last day would be the 8th I guess? But I was wondering what other girls were doing? Are you working up to your due date? Taking an extra week off? I think I would go stir crazy if I was at home just waiting to pop...of course if I go into labor at work my boss may freak...he is 42 never married and doesn't have any children...I am his personal assistant and he is already nervous around me and I just barely started my thrid trimester!!!

I will probably work until my due date which is june 4th. I know a girl who just had a baby at work took maternity leave 2 weeks prior to her due date which would be nice too- but I think I too would go crazy just sitting around the house waiting for my life to change......might as well work and make the days go by faster.

I am due in June as well. I am hoping to work up until I have her so I can have more time at home with her when she gets here.

I am due May 21st and I plan to work until my due date- fortunately I am going to start working from home full time on May 1st- I work 60 miles from my home and REALLY don't want my water to break or go in labor that far away! ha! If I am 2 weeks late and need to be induced- I will still work because I need as much time as possible when the baby is here!

hi there, I was forced into an early leave when my office was closed just before Christmas. Luckily a friend let me fill in for her the last 2 months a couple of days a week at her gift shop. But now I'm at home and not due for another 7wks!!! I've looked for another job but people are not wanting to train someone to leave in such a time. So here I sit, cleaning house, I'm going to start cooking some meals for the freezer, but I'm going nuts!!!!!! It sucks b/c I loved my job and now I'll never be going back, I can't wait for the baby to arrive so I'll have something to do!! Enjoy your work girls, being at home is great the first few days like a holiday but after that it sucks big time!!!

I guess it depends on what your job is. I can't wait for maternity leave to start! I'm due April 15th and my last day of work is March 28th. Actually my maternity leave starts on April 9th, but that week before is my school's spring break, so I get an extra week! I can't wait!!!! It is so hard to get around school (I'm 34 1/2 weeks right now) and all I want to do is sleep and I get impatient with the kids. If you have a low stress job then it is probably okay to work up to your due date or whenever you deliver, but I wouldn't be able to stand it, literally! I'd have to bring in my bed and lay down and teach haha!

My c-section is scheduled for May 2 and I plan on working until May 1. I REALLY don't want to have to take off work any earlier than that. I am looking forward to having the summer off and don't plan on going back to work until the middle of August. If I have to take off work earlier than May 1, that means I will have to go back earlier and I don't want to. :)

I'm due June 13 and I am planning on working up till I go to have her, if I have my way about it. Hee hee! I'm trying to take care of myself. I don't want to end up on bed rest. I'm planning on taking off 8 wks and I want to be able to spend all that time w/ my baby.

I am hoping to work up until I deliver, as well. I don't want to waste my paid leave just sitting around waiting for something to happen.

Cross my fingers I will work until I have the baby.. I want to spend my maternity leave after the baby is born and not before. I was on bedrest from 24 weeks on with my first... this time I am 27 weeks right now and no bedrest.. knock on wood. I am taking 3 months off and want to spend every second of that after the baby is born. Good luck to EVERYONE!

I'm only taking off 6 or 7 weeks, so I'll work right up until my due date, or later.

I'm taking off 2 weeks before my due date, and looking forward to it. It'll give me a chance to clean or do anything that isn't already done at that time.

I'm the same...working right up until I pop. I'll be 38 w tomorrow, and I'll start working 2 days a week from home - we have a virtual office setup, which is bliss. I'm not taking very much time off, as it's a small office (just 4 of us) I'm only taking 2 weeks off, then working 8 from home, so I certainly don't want to waste any of them sitting around the house. Although sleeping in the middle of the afternoon would be nice... :)

I am due March 14th and started my Mat leave last friday, but am really on vacation this week, so my maternity leave actually only starts on March 11th. It is long to wait at home, but it does give you and opportunity to rest a little and get everything in order before the baby arrives. Good luck to you!

I am working till i go into labor, I dont get paid maternity leave and have to be out for 8 weeks because my baby has to be that old to go to daycare, so I need to work as much as possible.

Im not sure when to go on mat leave.....I am due June 6th and I work steady midnights most of the night I don't do much but im in a 3 floor apartment looking after ppl with developmental disabilities....I have to do 2 checks during my shift and meds in the morning, which means walking up and down all the stairs. Not sure if that is bad for me or not....I do try to take it slow on the stairs. I was hoping to stay until at least the end of may unless the doc tells me otherwise. Anyone have any ideas as to when I should go off work?
