calm down....relax...breathe!.... they test for it and almost every wman gts it at some point in her life. all they have to do is give u an injection of antibiotics before u deliver...therefore it won't affect ur baby at all. its very common...and it isn't going to cause any problems...u will be fine....and so will ur baby.... hugs :)

its just that this pregnancy has been the pregnancy from hell. i developed choleostasis at 10 weeks! which shouldnt come untilt he third trimester. then i developed symphysis pubis dysfunction at 17 weeks. at 24 weeks, i started having severe kidney problems, and by 28 weeks i was on cruches as i cant walk properly. at 32 weeks i developed pre eclampsia, and at 34 weeks went into premature labour, but luckily they managed to stop the labour. then the drug they used i was allergic to so i swelled up and went bright red, and it took days to bring that back down, then i had a virus and chest infection and now at 36 weeks i have been told i have strep b! when will this end!

yes it is very common, i have had it before..they found it before i was pregnant though during a routine pap smear for infection, i took antibiotics and it cleared it all up. its really common and most women dont know they have it because there are no symptoms. the good part is that they found it, it only can be that dangerous if they don't know you have it before you deliver. you'll be ok :-)

I so feel your pain!! I had a mc a year ago, got pregnant in March, found out I had an incompetant cervix at 20 wks. They told me there was a strong possibility I had an infection so they had to do an amnio and then told me that if I did have an infection the baby wouldn't survive and neither would I. So if I did have an infection, I would have to be induced and loose my son forever! I did not have an infection Thank God, so I had to have a cerclage done so I could keep my son! Now at 37 wks Monday, I will have the st_tch removed and deliver very shortly! My due date is 12/10 and my Dr. does not think I will make it to my due date. Neither do I! I had some other things that could of been serious, but turned out ok! Just never ask 'What next'! Because with life and things that are worth fighting for, life doesn't stop throwing things at you! There is always something, just never give up! It will be worth it in the end-promise!

t girl - my mum had that when she had her first pregnancy, the thing that sucked for her even more, is when they took the st_tch out at 37 weeks, she didnt go into labour until 40 weeks. so she was expecting her baby to arrive and she didnt! Just been in hospital yet again, i was having such strong contractions i felt for sure i was in labour, they were 5 minutes apart and i have cracked 3 of my teeth through clenching through the pain, but my cervix didnt dialate at all. they said if it had dialated then they would have taken me striaght for my c section as i had planned one, but no, it didnt, i wasnt allowed any gas and air because i wasnt in established labour, and spent 40 hours contracting for absolutely nothing. apparently i have a kidney infection which caused the contractions. Life if so creul some times!
