12 Month Old Temper Tantrums

My daughter is 12 months old and just started the screaming, arching back thing when she is not happy. Whether it be picking her up when she does not want you to or laying down in her crib. If I pick her up during the fit, it is worse. I put her back down, she still screams. It's like she doesn't know what she wants. The screaming and crying is awful and I just don't know what to do. You would almost think she was in pain. I put her in her crib to cry it out. Will it ever end?

Yes it will end. Then a few months later it will start all over again. :o) Its like a cycle my dd will go through. She will be an angel for a few months and the next few months she will throw a temper tantrum about everything. The best thing you can do is ignore it. Its usually a attention thing, or it could be growth/developement spurt, teething, getting sick, etc.... Sigh!! No one said raising toddlers was easy :o)

My dd turned 2 in December & she still does it. I usually ignore it too. It happens more often when she is tired. I also hope it ends soon or I may have to develop a drinking problem :) jk.
