15 Month Old Trembling

my 15 month old dd has been sick the past few days. Nothing major, she has a low grade fever for 1 day and the sniffles, but really has just been acting kind of out of it. Yesterday she took a very late afternoon nap and woke up screaming bloody murder and I could console her at all. I didnt know what was wrong. Finally, I got her to calm down and she was trembling. It wasn't shaking like a seizure, but almost like shivering or the chills. What could this have been? A fever? a bad dream? or could she have worked her self up so much that she was trembling? I dont know, but it scared me and I started crying. Has anyone else ever experienced something like this?

oh I also forgot to mention she has been constipated also, and right after she finally calmed down she had a major explosion in her diaper. She was fine after that. I know thats probably why she was freaking out, but could she have been trembling from that also?

Poor baby... It is so hard when they don't feel well and they can't tell you what is wrong. I would have been concerned too, but it sounds like she is alright now, however, it wouldn't be a bad idea to mention it to the pediatrician just incase it happens again. It was probably her bodys way of dealing with whatever it was she was feeling but who knows. I would have been in tears too. As great mothers, we hurt too when our babies aren't well. My daughter is about 23 months old and sometimes when she isn't well, she will cry uncontrolably and there is no consoling her. I try but she is so upset. As moms, we have all been there. I am glad your little one is alright now. Hope you had a great Christmas.

thanks mj....it IS so hard when they dont feel good and you cant do anything about it. turns out now she has a really bad cold and is super congested. I guess she was just responding to how she was feeling, it just really scared me. I am definetly planning on mentioning it to her doctor. Hope you had a great x-mas too :-)
