1 Yr Old Sleep Problems

My son wil turn one on the 16th. For the last two months he has been waking up at around 1:00 AM and crying his little heart out. We would pick him up, put him back to sleep and try to lay him back in his crib, but the moment he hit the matress he would wake up again. So we have been putting him to sleep in our bed after he wakes, which he seemed to be fine with. For the last week he has still woken up around one, but when we go to lay him on our bed, he wakes up and begins to yell. He only wants to be held, and wakes up everytime we try to put him down. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

my dd just turned 1 also and has been doing the same thing quite a bit lately. I think it might be separation anxiety. She will wake up standing in her crib in the middle of the night crying for no apparent reason. I always do my best to try not to pick her up b/c she will expect it every time. I just lay her down and rub her back and if she continues to cry I just let her cio for a little bit and she usually goes back down. Sometimes I also think she may be thirsty, so I give her bit of water. Hope this helps

Give a little bit of water, make sure he is okay and let him cry!! It will be really hard, but he will soon learn to sooth himself back to sleep. I think lots of baby go through this around one year, could be a growth spurt thing or separation anxiety.
